Putnam County Arts Council will be providing us with these fun classes this summer!
In each class of these Zoom classes, people of all ages will be able to show their creativity through different art projects. All materials needed are common household items!
Materials: ruler, eraser, markers or crayons, black sharpie or other black marker. 8.5 x 11 paper
Brief: I will show how to make a grid to transfer lines to paper, draw the horse with basic shapes, create the outlines, erase the pencil lines, then color in the white areas using warm and cool color combinations. I think younger kids will like the project although I don’t expect them to draw past their level…they will get tips on using color and making shapes to make an animal that is universally used as a symbol in art sculpture, photographs, etc. I will be using an image I downloaded over the internet that is a copyrighted photo and talk about the difference between using an image for reference and copying exactly what has been done already.
*This project is made possible, in part, through the Putnam Arts Council’s Arts Link Grant Program with public funds provided through the NY State Council on the Arts with support from the Governor’s Office and the NY State Legislature and with public funds from Putnam County.
